Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school that serves a wide variety of students. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and have a unique range of skills. We have been practicing mindfulness to help us with our assessments. We meditate or do another mindful activity at least once a week. We are finding that it helps us reduce stress and stay relaxed.
My Project
Our classes practice mindfulness on a regular basis and before assessments. We have worked together to be mindful as a class and this project will really give us the opportunity to "take a break" and work on the mindful activity of diamond painting at the cozy corner desk. This idea came from a student who suggested how relaxing this activity can be. It will provide a refuge for students who are stressed or just need a quiet activity to do to calm themselves down. Working on a class diamond painting will help do just that!
