Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are bright and inquisitive. They love learning and are excited about new projects. I work at a Title I school, which means my students can sometimes use a little help to have all the tools they need to be successful at school. I am requesting a weighted blanket, fidget cubes and other sensory items they need to self regulate their emotions.

Students come to my office unregulated and often need a chance to calm down before they can talk.

Fidgets help them calm their minds and bodies. I also teach lessons on emotional regulation and feelings using the different fidgets to help them calm down. I work with a wide variety of students so I have a variety of fidgets to meet their needs. The kinetic sand, a Zen garden, and squish balls will be used to help calm children.
