My Project

Students need to be aware of how they are feeling to be successful in the classroom. If they are having big feelings, they can't focus in class and will miss out on learning.

Calming jars that are easily made with glitter, water, and glue are a simple tool to help kids with big feelings stay in the classroom and calm themselves down.

When students are taught about calming strategies and mindfulness through books and activities, they are more likely to stay in class and succeed in the classroom. It is particularly beneficial to students who have a trauma background or have sensory sensitivities.
