Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from the eccentric extroverts to the quiet introverts. My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures. They range from general education, special education and ESL students who are just learning the English language.

As a teacher I always try to find a way to boost my students' self esteem and practice what it means to truly love yourself.

Middle school is a major time of self doubt and having a strong sense of self would do wonders for my students.

My Project

I feel like mindfulness and the ability to think positively is so important to students, especially middle school. At this time in their lives they are often filled with doubt and little reminders and quotes they are drawn to can give them a boost they may need.

I find that quotes truly speak to the students as they find the deeper meaning behind what they author was saying.

I believe the materials I've selected will be beautiful resources that I can display around my room for the students.

I originally wrote a "Quote of the Day" or a "QOTD" and found that my students would often write down these powerful words and reflect on them. We were eventually able to discuss them as a class and try to find a deeper meaning to the messages. Having quotes around my classroom would be a great visual and something the students could reflect on or turn to in moments of need.
