My Project

The yoga mats, straps, and blocks will allow students the opportunity to practice yoga, mindfulness, and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) strategies. These practices are beneficial for memory, focus, and an overall sense of happiness.

Having yoga mats in my classroom will allow for mindfulness moments and brain breaks, but ultimately, I will be offering yoga and mindfulness classes to students and adults after school.

I will also be creating and hosting community events for parents and some professional development activities for educators in our district so they may share them with their students.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
