Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a high school math teacher and having a calm corner in my classroom will help provide my students with a valuable space to manage stress, regulate emotions, and reset when feeling overwhelmed.
Math can be a source of anxiety for many of my students, and offering a designated area for them to step away—even briefly—can help prevent frustration from escalating and allow my students to return with a clearer, more focused mind.
This space will support emotional well-being, promote self-awareness, and encourage healthy coping strategies, all of which contribute to a more positive and productive learning environment.
In a high school setting, where students face academic pressure and personal challenges, a calm corner in the classroom can make a meaningful difference in both their emotional and academic success.
