My Students
I teach a group of energetic, determined and thoughtful seventh graders. They are eager to learn and love discussions and debates. As we begin the new year, I want to be able to inspire them to develop a love for reading by diversifying my classroom library and providing them with flexible seating.
I currently teach in a Title One school with over seventy-five percent of students receiving free or reduced price lunch.
Many of my students have not had the chance to explore high interest genres that will inspire them to achieve their full potential. Please help me provide these students with graphic novels and flexible seating choices.
My Project
My students are creative and motivated individuals who will flourish in a literature rich environment where they are provided the opportunity to become engrossed in a book. This year, it is extremely important to create engaging lessons and students will love the chance to pick up their favorite novel and find a comfortable seat.
The materials and supplies I am requesting already have a home.
The carpet will be placed in the front of the room, the storage ottoman will be used to create a reading nook while also holding the rest of our flexible seating. Graphic novels and sensory supplies will be placed on shelves around the classroom. All we need is your help to create this fun and exciting classroom library!
