Mind Matters: Cultivating a Calming Space for Teens
Help me give my students a classroom that promotes mental health. An essential oil diffuser, oils, sound machine, guided meditation tool, lamp, heater and light covers will provide a calming, uplifting, and stress-relieving classroom environment.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Promoting mental health in the classroom will have a significant impact on the lives of my students. I am a special education teacher who has the honor of teaching neurodivergent learners. Every day, my students walk through the school doors with a thirst for knowledge, eager to learn and grow. However, they also carry with them their own set of challenges and obstacles that can make it difficult for them to fully engage in their education. With the help of these donations, my goal is to create a calm and stress-reducing classroom environment that promotes a positive learning experience.
Supporting the mental health of students with special needs is crucial for their overall well-being and academic success.
The majority of my students require additional support to manage their mental health effectively. Prioritizing mental health for students with special needs is significant because it directly impacts their ability to focus, retain information, and perform well academically. When teenagers are struggling with their mental health, it can negatively affect their concentration, motivation, and overall academic success.
Having a calm learning environment will enable my students to regulate their emotions, cope with stress, and manage conflicts effectively. As their coping strategies grow, I hope to see these students build resilience, self-esteem, and positive relationships with peers, teachers, and family.
