Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are explorers, mathematicians, scientists and authors! They love to learn and experience the world around them through hands-on activities.
My students are enthusiastic, fun-loving and energetic learners!
They are learning to make smart choices and to solve their own problems. They love to teach each other and to work together to meet their learning goals.
My students are always active and engaged in learning. They learn best when they are actively participating in their own learning. This project will help our class do just that!
My Project
I'm so excited to begin a science unit on animals in my classroom. My students are learning how to find solutions to human problems by mimicking animals. We will explore how animals use adaptations, habitats, shelter, camouflage and body coverings to survive through reading the "What If You Had Animal..." books, playing the animal sort game and vocabulary cards.
What if YOU had animal teeth, ears, eyes or hair?
How could you use your unique features to survive? We'll be designing human clothing and shelters that mimic turtle shells, penguin blubber, and snake scales! We can't wait to get started!
