My Students

My students this year are so motivated to learn. They ask more questions than I can answer and often times it leads to wonderful discussions. Their curiosity grows as we learn more material about our world. Our community is growing rapidly and we have students moving in with excitement to join our school. This area used to be ranches and farms but has now developed into a very tight-knit community. Many parents and families have come together to make this school great for the children that attend. With ​community support, education is maximized.

My Project

I would like to provide two bean bag chairs and headphones for our computers to create a literate rich environment. These materials will give students a special and comfortable place to read and enjoy books. A space in the classroom that is designated as a literacy spot will make it feel like a privilege to read. Kids can also work together to gain knowledge in this comfy area that is specifically for reading and learning. As well they will feel comfortable when they​ get to use their own set of headphones while achieving their goals on the literacy program our school offers on the Chromebooks they purchased. Each lesson is customized to the students’ learning and it is imperative that they have quality sound to complete the activity.
