Help me give my students books to foster a growth mindset and celebrate diversity and kindness, mice to help them to effectively navigate on a computer, and help me get materials to teach effectively while social distancing.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
First grade is a fun time where students show excitement for learning and school. First graders show so much curiosity as they engage in learning and activities. They are excited and happy as they learn in different ways. I want my students to feel confident and capable as they participate in activities.
My Project
We use computers frequently in my classroom, and navigating them without a mouse can be difficult for first graders. Allowing children to use a mouse helps them be more efficient and learn in all subjects.
I want to foster a growth mindset and celebrate diversity and kindness in my classroom.
These books will help us have conversations about differences, kindness, and growth. Introducing these topics through books will impact students’ attitudes and give them skills they will use throughout their lives.
This year it is also very important for students to have supplies that they can use while social distancing. Everyone will need their own white board marker and a place to sit on the carpet. This will help us maintain a safe environment in the classroom.
