My students need a portable whiteboard for small-group mini-lessons. This learning center easel will allow us to depict learning points during small group instruction.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This summer I am building my third-grade classroom from scratch and could definitely use some help! When students arrive on the first day of school, I want to ensure that we have the resources we need for whole class and small group breakout instruction.
My students are curious learners with a broad range of talents and abilities.
They are all emerging bilinguals who are eager to learn and collaborate. We regularly work in small groups to build our skills in communication, collaboration and various content area objectives.
Our school is a Title 1 school in Bronx, New York City. Our students are creative, attentive, and active learners. They are grateful for all the resources made available to them and use them wisely!
My Project
This portable easel will make it possible for me (and student mentors) to carry out more effective small group instruction. During small group break-out lessons I can provide students with visual aids on this whiteboard rather than distracting the entire class by using the Smartboard. This portable easel can also be used by students during literacy center work.
Every effective elementary classroom includes differentiated small-group instruction and student-directed small group collaboration.
This portable learning easel will facilitate such learning models by providing me and my students with a much-needed resource for small group instruction and collaboration.
