Middle Schoolers want to BREAKOUT of Traditional Lesson Plans!
Help me give my students Break Out Boxes so they can have the opportunity to use problem solving skills to make our language arts activities more interesting and applicable to real life situations!
My students are active, creative and highly motivated to do well in competitive atmospheres. We complete EOG Boot Camps, where the students work at their own pace to review the materials we have covered all year long. The students thrive in situations where they are given control over their own learning.
They are NEVER boring and tend to handle hands on experiences incredibly well.
They have said themselves that they enjoy working in groups to problem solve, rather than filling out worksheets and taking notes.
We do a variety of group work activities to develop problem solving processes, as well as leadership skills and group oriented social skills. These group work days tend to be the most productive and successful as the students REALLY enjoy a challenge.
My Project
My students really enjoy hands on projects across multiple content areas. They are highly motivated by a competitive spirit and enjoy learning in non-traditional ways. Having dedicated BreakOut boxes for the classroom would allow me to create BreakOut rooms tailored to our content. This creates an atmosphere of fun and excitement while learning Language Arts materials.
When students are engaged and having fun their brains forge more pathways and connections that help them retain the information they are learning.
As Mary Poppins says, "In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and snap! The job's a game." Break Out Rooms make the job a game!
Help me bring the fun to my classrooms! Each BreakOut box contains locks and puzzles that must be solved before students can move on to the next step. These kits can be used with any break out lesson and with any subject. When maintained properly, the kits can last for years!
