My Students
Being able to travel across America through John Steinbeck's eyes is a journey that my students will enjoy. Please help create this experience for my students this school year.
We live in a rural part of Maine, so rural that we need to travel over an hour to shop at a mall!
Many of our kids don't get the opportunity to venture further than that, mostly because of recent layoffs at our local, major employer. Steinbeck's book, Travels with Charlie, helps my students explore our country with a unique perspective.
My Project
John Steinbeck's book, Travels with Charlie, provides a unique perspective, when coupled with technology, that will allow my students to explore our beautiful country. We will use Google Earth to map Steinbeck's travels from start to finish, explore the destinations that he visits, and learn some of the details about those specific locations.
With your help in supporting this project, you will help establish an enriching unit that my students will enjoy for years to come.
They'll get the opportunity to see their country in such a unique way, coupled with technology, that they'll never forget the experience, nor forget the book. It may even interest my non-readers to want to read more.
