Motivated, Curious, Hard-Working, Inquisitive, and Problem-Solvers are typically not the first words that come to mind when one thinks about middle school students. However, those types of students are exactly the type of students that I get the opportunity to work with in our after school STEM Club.
Through group work, these students are learning collaboration and perseverance through engaging hands on activities.
In the first year, this STEM club has really captured the interest of many students, and has allowed them to excel in areas outside of the STEM club.
Through the STEM Club at school I am constantly giving students ideas about how we can use what we are doing in our after school club in the future, as either a career or to make a difference in our community. The IMAX film, Dream Big, is everything that I have been describing to my students.
Through your donation, my students will experience how using a passion that you have you can make a significant impact in the lives around you, for the better.
After seeing this film this past summer it left me inspired, moved, and wanting to do more with my passion. This exposure for my students could be all that it takes to light that fire within.
