My Project
Getting middle schoolers to read can be challenging, but offering incentive prizes for reading goals met and providing books of high interest really works! My students love reading manga and I only have a few in my class library. I would love to bring some variety of books to my classroom library to engage students.
I also use incentive prizes for my students to meet their reading goals.
They love little mochi squishy toys, stress balls, stickers, and other fun little prizes. I am also asking for pencils because I can't even begin to describe the amount of pencils we go through for some reason. I am one of the only teachers in my hallway that always tries to supply students with pencils, so they always grab one from my room! I also need eraser toppers to make the pencils last longer.
