This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Middle Schoolers have a brand new elective class where they learn cooking and baking basics. Our goal is to prepare students to be self sufficient in the kitchen!

These pots, pans, hot plates, & strainers will allow students to learn basic cooking skills to fend for themselves, cook for their families, and inspire future chefs!

This class not only teaches our students a basic life skill, but gives students a new-found confidence that builds self-worth and value into them. It has already been so exciting to hear students say things like this - "I went home and cooked for my whole family last night, and they loved it!"
