Middle School Frog Dissection!

Help me give my students hands on experience with animal tissues, organs, and organ systems with class sets of frog dissections kits.

My Project

Every year, my 7th graders ask me if we're going to dissect anything, and I always wish we could! This year I hope to make it happen. I'm requesting 32 frog dissection kits (eight for each class) that students in groups of three-four can use to explore animal anatomy over the course of two-three days.

Students will get experience in a real science lab scenario to extend their study of tissues, organs, and organ systems.

In the NC science curriculum, life science begins by focusing on the cell, but then broadens the scope to include these aspects. Whereas studying the plant and animal cells tends to be more abstract, this could be a wonderful opportunity to really see what they're studying up close.
