I teach ELA to four classes of 6th grade students daily. These learners are bright, inquisitive, diverse, and hardworking.
For this project, I am requesting some new books for the classroom library, as well as some basic classroom supplies.
The new books will help students continue to practice the skills we learn in class during their own independent reading by allowing kids to borrow books to read at home. A well-stocked classroom library ensures that every reader can find a title that's just right for them.
I am also requesting some additional supplies to be used in the classroom. My students would benefit from having easy access to extra pencils, large chart paper for sharing ideas during group work, lined post-its for providing peer feedback, band-aids for paper cuts, sheet protectors to preserve paper and display students' work, as well as some cleaning supplies. Having an extra supply of these materials readily accessible in the classroom will keep our learning going smoothly all year long.
