Mrs. Moyer from Pittsburgh PA is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a heat press and transfer papers for the school t-shirt making/designing.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up" -Picasso. This quote is posted all over my classroom; the challenging yet exciting part is inspiring children to believe this by exposing them to as many artistic opportunities I can every day!
My students are inner city middle school students in the city of Pittsburgh.
The school is part magnet, therefore the students travel from all over the city, not just local to the community. I love the diversity that my school fosters with the magnet aspect. My students love the arts, it is simply a matter of trying to get them the materials they deserve with a low budget. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my children!
The materials that I am requesting will not only be used for the art room, but will be used school wide. My goal is to allow each after school club to design their own t shirts and provide every student with a shirt to represent their passion and school. The students have been screen printing recently for personal shirts, but they have been wanting to make shirts for the entire school. I love the concept that my students are proud to represent their school and involvement with certain clubs or activities. These materials will help my students learn the importance of innovation and creativity in the 21st century. These materials will give my students the opportunity to focus on 'critical making' – the notion of learning with the hands, mind and heart, so that students may develop their own unique approach to making and problem-solving.
These donations will help foster the innovative creativity skills that my students will need to be able to compete and excel in whatever they plan to do in their futures.
These materials will allow them to refine these skills in order to not just blend into the masses.
