Students at our middle school are a wonderful population of engaged young people. The K-12 school building's motto is Small School - Big Family. Our district covers the entire Eastern half of Manistee County. The majority of employment opportunities are service jobs. Therefore, most of the population is living in poverty. Our community is close to Tippy Dam on the Manistee River. This provides year round active sportsman activities and commerce for area business. Our neighboring high school is known for graduating James Earl Jones.
My Project
Our Middle School has a new Computer Science Class this year. Our Middle School teacher has completed the Code.org certification and the class is up and running. The students are fully engaged with very high interest.
Within their learning teams, middle school Computer Science students need these accessories for hands on learning.
The accessories include the circuit boards for the unit on programing language. Additionally, the mice and earbuds allow for greater efficiency while learning during the individualized video lessons. The HDMI to VGA cable will allow students to project their team projects from their Chromebooks to the whole class. These projects include creating their own websites and a working computer app.
