This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Donations of essential classroom supplies such as good-for-you snacks, mini pencils, erasers, dry-erase pockets, dry-erase markers, and three-ring pencil pouches can significantly enhance the learning environment for our students. Providing nutritious snacks, like fruit or granola bars, helps to fuel students’ bodies and minds, promoting better focus and engagement throughout the school day.
Mini pencils in bright colors not only add a cheerful touch to the classroom but also help prevent needless pencil loss, ensuring that students always have the tools they need at hand.
The erasers, both for regular use and dry-erase boards, allow students to correct their mistakes easily, fostering a mindset that embraces learning through trial and error.
Dry-erase pockets, equipped with magnets, are particularly valuable. They enable me to attach extra copies of assignments to the board by the agenda, ensuring easy access for students. These pockets also encourage interactive learning, where students can practice math problems and writing exercises multiple times without wasting paper, making learning more sustainable and engaging.
Furthermore, using whiteboards helps build confidence in students, as they can express their ideas visually while understanding that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process. Dry-erase markers are essential for this interactive practice, enhancing comprehension through hands-on engagement.
