My Students

I teach fourth grade. I taught fourth grade my very first year of teaching and loved that class with my whole heart. I knew one day I would want to go back to fourth grade. I finally got the opportunity and find myself loving this age more than ever. They are so fun! You can have the intelligent conversations with them and have a fun environment.

My students all come to school ready to learn.

They each have their individual passions; some love sports, some love to read and write, some love to draw and create beautiful pictures. Because of each of these individual passions, I know how important it is for each of them to find their love for learning and find what works best for them. I also have found that once each student in the class realizes how different they are and how everyone has different skills, they begin to turn to each other to seek help from each other and not rely totally on me as their teacher. I love when this happens. They each find their place in the classroom and are willing to do their best.

My Project

One of the biggest struggles we have is getting students to come to school. Getting students excited to come to school is so important. In my class, we have flexible seating. This makes the classroom feel homey and welcoming. After three years, those flexible seating materials get major wear and tear. A lot of the items on my list are to help replace some of those materials.

We have been working on math facts through out the whole year.

We base our math facts around Harry Potter. When students pass off multiplication, they earn a unique wand. When they pass off their division, they earn a golden snitch fidget spinner. I have found students to be completed committed and work so hard to pass these off. I need help buying the fidget spinners.
