My Students

Don't let "Title 1" fool you, my elementary students are hungry for music and ready to battle whatever challenges they face.

We have worked incredibly hard in the past two years to turn our music program into one of the fastest growing in the district. They volunteer extra hours to commit to their music education outside of school and submit non-required work for the room including written lyrics, music notation sheets, and curriculum recommendations.

My Project

The microphone will record student voices and instruments during music studio projects. The device will record anything from a whole class choir to individual student presentations and three person bands. This particular microphone is great for switching between acoustic settings and is durable enough to survive the elementary classroom environment. The Apple TV will serve as an interactive mirror for classroom devices. As students record on their iPads and work on their iMovie and Garage Band projects, they will mirror the device on the screen to present to the whole class. The Apple TV is wonderful for quickly switching devices while remaining cordless and easy to use. It also opens up a new realm of instructional tools made for iPads by allowing everyone to view the big screen. Twenty five students hunching together to see a small screen does not work very well. Our 60 inch projector will complement the device nicely.

Music rooms require space and flexibility.

Cordless displays and easy to use microphones only enhance the learning experience. I enjoy working with iPads and studio recording equipment. I love teaching students how to use this technology and let them use it to create art. Empowering Students Through Art makes students rely on themselves to learn, create, and share their ideas using the resources they have available. No matter what happens, they move forward!
