Microworlds Matter

My students need two teaching microscopes to do a microworlds science unit.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Mustafa's classroom raised $1,034

My Students

My class is a 4/5th grade split class and wants to explore the microscopic world long after we have to return the district Microworlds Science Kits. They love science and deserve the same education as our sister schools. Please let them be the scientists they deserve to be

We have little or no funding from our PTA.

70 percent of our students have free or reduced lunch. Every year I have homeless students in my class. We are a very diverse school with an amazing student body and supportive Principal. I pay for all the supplies that the school cannot provide for my students. All the teachers in my school do. We are a unique school with very dedicated teachers. We all collaborate many times throughout the year. There are things that we cannot afford but is necessary for the kind of education we would like to provide.

My Project

I am asking for two student friendly microscopes. If we can have the 2 microscopes I will be sharing them with the 2 other 4/5 teachers in my school. This project will affect about 75 students. These microscopes will provide a closer look at organism that they cannot see through the microscopes that is provided by the school district Microworlds Science Unit for only 3 months. It would be so nice for my students to explore and see hands on the things I teach them about. This is the school age students are really curious. If I can meet some their science exploration and investigative needs. Who knows the next great scientist may be inspired and come from one of our classrooms.

Many other countries in the world are ahead of us in science.

We need to better build up our education system for science. These students in my school I know can really make the difference. We have to provide the right environment and excitement around science. Also of course they deserve it. Just like students in other schools.
