My students need one Microsoft Surface to enhance the use of our class Smartboard.

My Students
Our class makes use of the Smartboard for instruction and presentation. My lessons are generally delivered from there and students use it for demonstrations and presentations.
My students come from a school where many of their parents teach at the local university.
They have high vocabularies, deep comprehension, and are fluid with the use of tech in learning. The children at my school are accustomed to using computers when completing school work and projects.
My Project
One of my most useful pieces of educational tech in my classroom is my Smartboard (an interactive, computer controlled white-board). The one drawback to the Smartboard is that it tends to keep us grounded at the front of the room. It requires my students to come to the front to present and demonstrate (a third of my students are reluctant on that point alone). I have tried the Smart Tablet, and my personal iPad and Surface RT with my Smartboard to allow mobility, but each has crippling drawbacks. The Surface Pro is a full Windows machine (which will run the Smartboard software), and has none of the limitations of my previously mentioned solutions.
Using the Microsoft Surface Pro, my students and I would have the advantages of the big screen Smartboard at the front of the room... but we would no longer be chained to it.
Sometimes, when doing rotations, small groups will set up a project on the Smartboard. However, this can be distracting to the other groups. The Surface would allow that same function to happen, without illuminating the Smartboard to the entire room.
