This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students need technology to reach their full potential; they deserve to be prepared for the world around them. My students are eager to explore the world around them, through the use of technology. My students are special because they come from an area where they are expected to underperform, yet every day they walk into the classroom ready and willing to do their very best. Students have performed on state tests and beat the odds. They are an amazing group of young people that take pride in their classroom environment, work and themselves as a whole.

My students are talented and deserve to be taught through various resources that can bring out the best in them.

They have very little resources at home and as their teacher, my goal is to help them achieve greatness.

My Project

At our school we are focused on mastery!

My students are not only learning to master their academic content areas, but they are learning to become masters of technology in a technology-driven world.

My students are mastering the use of Microsoft tools and technology to enhance their literacy levels, improve their writing skills, and practice their speaking skills. Many of my 7th grade students have been working hard to become Microsoft certified and help our 6th graders become masters of Microsoft.

With this Microsoft Go, my students will have technology within reach to become the masters they strive to be. My students are eager to be pushed to be their very best; I want to give them the opportunity to learn and explore through the use of technology. Students will be able to engage, research, explore the world, and have access to tons of literature. Students will use the Microsoft Go to research and present to their peers. Students will read a variety of literature through the use of technology. Your donations will prepare my students for real-world education in both colleges and careers.

This project will help to further the Atlanta Public Schools vision. We will be "A high-performing school district where students love to learn, educators inspire, families engage and the community trusts the system." APS CLL Grow. Lead. Transform. Mini-Grants.
