Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are passionate learners who know how enjoy inquiry and exploration.
My students and I want to be able to do more hands-on activities, especially using microscopes to experience authentic science!
Your donations will help enrich our project-based school to extend learning beyond the classroom walls. I want my students to be able to engage in scientific practices of using microscopes and making observations. We are working on accurate scientific drawings, and extending that learning to the microscopic world will help us become high quality scientific illustrators.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to get authentic scientific experience in using microscopes, and apply what we have learned about making qualitative and quantitative observations to the microscopic level.
We are going to explore with microscopes, and do laboratory experiments about chemical reactions.
The 8th graders are learning about pH, and we want to do investigations about pH, but we need some safety equipment so we can stay safe in doing experiments. The few pairs of goggles and sets of gloves will give us a class set of safety equipment, so we can keep doing fun and interesting experiments!
