it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Title I school with a heavy newcomer population. Many of the students are English language learners who would greatly benefit from more hands on science experience. These microscopes would be used to help bring the information in our readings to life. After years of use, only 3 microscopes remain working in my classroom. This project would help all learners experience the joys and mysteries of the cellular world. Despite the many struggles our students face daily, I try to give the most realistic science experience I can. I think having legitimate science supplies gives them a sense of ownership and creates a school environment that feels professional and empowering. I would love to impart the joy of science unto these young learners.
