it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We want to see under a microscope and hear behind the headphones. We have plenty of microscopes but need the slides to see how tiny plant and animal organisms begin. The scientist we study often show us in our textbooks but we want to use a microscope and be hands on.
We are Fifth graders in a class of 26 students with one teacher.
We are an inner city school in Rhode Island and we need supplies to make our science more educational. The microscopes we have work perfectly but we need the slides. We are now taking standardized assessments in our classroom computers and we need headphones. We can't use the earbuds.
My Project
Do you remember using a microscope? We have the microscopes but no slides. We have tried to use slides and make our own with onion peels but it isn't the same. We are hoping to get the real ones from Carolina Scientific supply company of real plant and animal cells.
We learn about plant cells from our textbook and we go on the computers but it isn't the same.
Our experiences in Science could build the next bio physicist, lab technician, or geneticists. I want students to experience all types of careers in elementary school so that when they get to high school they will have an idea of career choices and options. I want our world to promote great science. Please help my class.
