Microscope Mania!

Help me give my students microscopes to have the opportunity to fully experience the science curriculum. The students are more engaged in science this year than ever before, please help us continue this engagement.

My Students

I teach in a diverse, urban school district where 70% of students from my school come from low-income​ households. 31% of the students move within the school year, leaving gaps in their learning. Many of the parents work multiple jobs or at night, and are unable to provide educational support when school releases. Opportunities to build background knowledge at home to help them excel in the classroom come few and far between. My students want the chance to experience learning in ways that are motivating, engaging, and educational at the same time.

My Project

Our students have a new science curriculum that is hands-on and all lab-based. They need these microscopes for our life science unit, and due to budget issues, we can't replace all of our broke microscopes. If we can't get these funded, our students will have little to no preparation for high school science.

Please help our students grow and build their excitement for Science!

Our students are more excited then they have been in years about learning science. These microscopes will allow our students to study the abstract idea of cells and other small living organisms​. The microscopes will allow them to see these microscopic organisms for the first time!
