My Students

My students are some of the hardest working, most dedicated teens and preteens I could ever ask for! Their dedication and perseverance make them exceptionally special! Because of the geographical distance of our county, our school services students from five different small towns in addition to many families that live on family farms and ranches. The majority of our students travel at least ten miles each way to get to school with a large portion even traveling eighty miles a day to make it to school from the reservation included in our county. For these students, the added time they spend traveling to school makes every accomplishment in academics and extracurricular activities even more impressive!

My Project

My classroom desperately needs some updated, functional microscopes for life science! My students have been busy studying cells and cell processes but our microscopes are very outdated and many do not work properly anymore. Students struggle when doing labs because some microscopes only work on certain powers or we don’t have enough and they need to wait and take turns. We LOVE to explore the microscopic world and make our learning come to life but need new equipment to utilize our time in class and make our labs run smoothly!
