My students need one digital microscope that I can attach to my doc camera/smart board to adequately teach my science lessons. I would also need prepared slides.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My day in my 5th grade class is exciting! I have 24 5th graders, and I have instilled the love of learning in them. I teach all subjects and, most recently, a lot of science. We are handicapped by not having access to computers for each student. Having these science tools will help me immensely.
I have 13 girls and 11 boys.
Several are from broken homes and need constant support that everything is going to be OK. My school is a great place, and my room is even better. I have created a family atmosphere, and the students are thriving. My motto is "We Make Learning Fun!" I have been at this school for 24 years. We have really enjoyed learning about weather this year in science, and now we go into the human body. What a great way to teach these kiddos about science by having a microscope and my doc camera hooked up! My students and myself will be over the moon!
My Project
I will attach this science tool (a microscope) to the doc cam and be able to share so much with all the class. We will use this each day during our science time, and we will be looking at plant slides, animal slides, and everything else that comes with the slide kit! Talk about bringing science right to the student!! My students have been engaged with the books, can you imagine what they will do with this?
I have been teaching for 24 years and never asked for a donation.
I have always saved up money and bought things for the class when I could. I have used the microscopes that were so flimsy they were a joke but still taught the lesson and led the students through the experiment. This project is a dream come true if I can really get my hands on one microscope and a set of slides! My goal is to expose the students to a new level of participation in the study of science.
