Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first grade teacher in a low income school. Most of the children in my class are on free or reduced lunch. My students are amazing! They show good character, they are smart, and they are very inquisitive!
I have a large magnifying glass at my science center. I also have some shells and rocks for my students to look at. They are fascinated when they use this large magnifying glass.
I know my students would be very intrigued with a microscope! In this proposal, I am asking for a student microscope, a big screen microscope, and a series of prepared slides. I would be able to show a group of students a specimen on the big screen microscope. I would let them use the regular student microscope to view the specimens in centers, which we go to daily.
I already know how eager and excited my future scientists will be with the addition of a microscope and prepared slides to our science center. It will be amazing to see their faces as they examine, compare, and view slides of insects, plants, vegetables, and animals.
Thank you so much for investing in our future.
