My students need the VocoPro Four Channel Rechargeable wireless microphone system for vocal projection during practice in rehearsals and performance on stage.
With a set of wireless microphones my students would be able to showcase their hard work, their talent, and their fearlessness. The students who would benefit from this DonorsChoose project are diligent 3rd-5th graders who participate in the fall after-school Elementary Holiday Musical. This is a fledgling program as it was started last year. My students are often participating in the first program of their lives where they have to act, memorize lines, sing, and learn choreography to perform for their peers, parents and community members. It is no small undertaking for them. One student, who struggles with ADHD in the classroom, participated in the ensemble last year. When he was asked by a faculty member what he does extra besides school he said proudly, "Well I'm in the musical."
The 30 student performers from last year worked incredibly hard but technical difficulties and lack of sound equipment made it impossible for the audience to hear them.
With some decent microphones, I can incorporate some training in sound equipment for my stage crew members, a role also filled by 3rd-5th graders. Please consider donating if you have ever seen or experienced the value of musical theater in young students' lives.
My Project
The 4 handheld microphones I am requesting in this project will be used for the preparation, practice, and performance of the 30-50 students annually who choose to participate in the Fall Musical at RBHES. Students of this age group tend to have a difficult time being heard and projecting when performing without the supplement of a quality method of projection. The system comes with 4 microphones and batteries to power each, however, it does not come with needed cables to connect to a bigger speaker system I already have. It also does not come with a recharger for batteries, which I included.
