Micro:bots For Computer Science Fun

Help me give my students Micro:bots to have fun coding and learning Computer Science.

My Students

My 4th grade students are part of our school's Innovation Academy, which provides student agency, strengthens problem solving skills, and includes culture and place based learning. They work collaboratively doing hands-on activities to learn how to make a difference in their community.

My Project

Since most students were not attending school in-person full time last school year, they will need to build their social and collaboration skills when returning to school this year. Addressing the new Hawaii State Computer Science Standards will provide students the essential skills to be productive and successful in life.

While learning block coding, students will gain valuable problem solving and collaboration skills that they can then apply to other content areas.

Coding lessons begin with unplugged lessons, then moves into plugged lessons (online). Coding robots is a fun and engaging way for students to learn physical coding which is the last step in the progression of Computer Science lessons.
