The technology allows me to plan more engaging, organized, and differentiated lessons that better meet the needs of all learners. I use it to create clear visuals, interactive slides, and hands-on activities that help make abstract concepts more concrete for young students. Having reliable technology also allows me to quickly access instructional resources, model skills in real time, and adjust lessons based on student understanding.\r\n\r\nWhat is most exciting for my students is how lessons feel more engaging and dynamic. They are more attentive when I can project visuals, model problem-solving step by step, or share stories, images, and videos that connect to what we are learning. The MacBook helps lessons move smoothly, which keeps students focused and excited to participate. Even small changes—like clearer directions, visuals, and interactive activities—make a big difference for second graders.\r\n\r\nI've noticed that several students have especially benefited from this improved instruction. Visual learners and English language learners better understand lessons when I can support instruction with images, diagrams, and examples. Students who typically struggle to stay engaged are more focused when lessons are well-paced and interactive. Overall, the MacBook Air has helped me become a more effective and responsive teacher, which directly supports student learning and success in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1762265286063,"projectUrl":"project/powering-lessons-with-technology/9702480/","projectTitle":"Powering Lessons with Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Campo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9687060"},{"teacherId":8356075,"projectId":9772274,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donations. My students are busy writing at the boards everyday, so we always need to replenish white board supplies. Using whiteboards and markers is essential to the work we do, but they run out so quickly. This round of pens should last us quite some time. We love that each board now has a colored option for shading in graphs or annotating our work. We really needed new erasers for both the main boards and individual boards so thank you helping us purchase an eraser for every student in each of my classes. In addition, the microfiber cloths allow us to deep clean the boards when needed.\r\n The new binders and amazing pentel pens are being put to great use as I provide student feedback and collect data about my students. I can't thank you enough for the replacement white pencil caps. The erasers that come with the pencils wear out so quickly! Other helpful items were double stick tape that I find myself using for everyday school tasks, and contact paper to cover my less than attractive classroom doors. Finally, the most exciting gift is our thermal printer and labels. I can now quickly print out labels for student journals, folders and supplies right from my phone. \r\n My students and I are so grateful for your generosity. That frustration often overshadowed their natural eagerness to learn.\r\n\r\nNow, that frustration is gone!\r\n\r\nThe new, larger TV is a window for every child. No matter where they are seated, everyone has a front-row view of the instruction. This simple clarity has created an atmosphere of inclusion and quiet confidence.\r\n\r\nThe document camera takes that interactivity one step further. My students cheered when I opened the boxes and they immediately started proposing a sign up to sit on them. They love having a choice in how they sit and learn, and as an incentive to get work done. It has made a noticeable difference in their focus and comfort during small group instruction and in collaborative teams. It especially made a difference in some of my shy students to help them feel comfortable and confident when presenting oral projects and show and tell. The construction paper has opened up countless opportunities for my students to creatively express their learning through art, handmade projects, and visual models of their research. The paper trays have brought much-needed organization to our classroom, giving students a designated space to turn in work and keep our learning environment tidy and efficient.\r\n\r\nYour support helped me provide what I couldn't afford on my own as a new teacher with very limited start-up materials and resources.
