This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are most engaged when they do hands-on lab experiments. I want to engage my students in microbiology and forensics work.
The "blood" and luminol spray will be used in forensics work, and the agar plates and germ glow will be used to demonstrate bacteria growth.
Overall, showing how the unseen can be seen and represented.
I plan to engage students with microbiology for an entire unit with hands-on lab experiences and other materials I currently have, specifically with microscope work.
Unfortunately, my school does not have enough funding for these items, and I am frequently buying my own materials so students can have engaging activities.
