Mi Dual Language Casita Classroom

Help me give my students the best classroom environment possible! My Dual Language classroom is going to be a little "casita" for my students so I want it to feel welcoming. Vamos a la escuela!

My Project

I am so excited to embark on my first year teaching! I am a 3rd grade Dual Language teacher, and I could not be more excited to begin the school year! Because my classroom is self-contained, my students will be in my class the whole time. I want the room to feel like a home away from home, hence the term "casita", which means "little house" in Spanish.

I chose the color scheme, bulletin boards, and rug to emulate a warm and safe feeling, which will aid in my students feeling comfortable and safe in the class.

Our school has made the Dual Language program a priority on campus, as it is vital for emerging bilingual students to have the tools to succeed in their education. I plan to continue that by utilizing posters in both English and Spanish so that my students can feel seen, heard, and valued as they look around the room.

It is important to me that no student is left behind, and despite language barriers, each student grows and reaches their full potential. Please consider donating to our little casita!
