My Project

Science is meant to be experienced through labs and experiences. Given the budgets of schools and the timeframes of classes, I am looking to give the students the opportunity to go on virtual fieldtrips and do virtual labs to learn about their world, bodies, the environment and careers in the STEM field. The MetaQuest 3s will give the opportunity to students to look into these worlds either individually or as a class.

The world of STEM can be opened up with technology and the correct direction of a mentor.

With the VR Headset we will for the first time be able to look at and interact with Science Labs across the world and manipulate labs that we typically can not accomplish in the current classroom setup. Our Title 1 students have not been outside our city and state. This will open their horizons in ways unimaginable.

Ultimately, this would be used school-wide to help students in math, history, and English. Imagine the awe of a student who has just seen the Greek Colosseum for the first time or walked onto the Battlefields of the Civil War. This could be life-changing and education-changing.
