I proudly and enthusiastically teach a preschool disabled class at a special needs school. Our school accommodates students with various disabilities and challenges who range in age from 3-21 years old. It is filled with the most amazing and awesome students and staff.
There is so much love, dedication, enthusiasm, and creativity in our school that it feels magical at times!
Our amazing preschool students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and the majority of them receive free and reduced lunch. They have various physical and cognitive challenges, and require adaptive equipment and communication devices. All of our preschoolers love school and continue to amaze us with their hard work and progress.
We feel very blessed that we get to be a part of their journey. We try to create a fun, safe, enriching, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes learning. My paras and I LOVE what we do, we LOVE our students, and we want to give them the tools they need to succeed.
My Project
My adventurous preschool students would greatly benefit from the pump and play outdoor kitchen so they can engage in pretend play and sensory exploration while enjoying the fresh air.
We are trying to create a sensory garden for our students that would benefit all of their unique sensory needs.
The pump and play outdoor kitchen is a preschool-sized kitchen play center that allows students to engage in messy and imaginative play. It would be one of the focal points of our sensory garden and used during all the seasons for various discovery and sensory play.
I know how much my students would enjoy this outdoor center. In addition to pretend play, sensory play, and exploration it would also help build their language and social skills. As I am sure this will be a sought after center, our students would have the opportunity to work with their peers on much needed language and social skills.
Thank you for reading our request. If funded we will be taking orders for mud pies. Thank you!
