A couple of months ago, I was awarded a grant that I used to purchase a class set of Merge Cubes. The Merge Cube offers a tactile approach to learning, featuring unique patterns on each side. Paired with smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks and Merge EDU apps, students delve into immersive STEM experiences. I was introduced to this resource years ago, and am so excited to use them in my classroom.
As we strive to engage all students, especially those at risk, in hands-on learning, traditional methods often fall short.
To foster genuine excitement for science, we must go beyond textbooks and costly tools. Enhancing our curriculum with Merge Cube and Merge EDU transforms abstract concepts like the Earth's core, frog anatomy, DNA, and the solar system into interactive adventures. This variety of simulations will allow Merge Cubes to be used in all of our science courses including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, forensic science and environmental science. By prioritizing interactive digital aids, we aim to boost science test scores and ignite curiosity in our classrooms, fostering lasting enthusiasm for learning.
The goal of this project is to fund a one-year subscription to MergeEDU's software. As mentioned above, this resource can be used in a variety of ways in all of our science classes, and can foster a hands-on learning experience with our students.
