This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our classroom, students learn English and History through a series of exciting projects and multi-sensory learning experiences.
My students are inquisitive, brilliant 7th graders who have a sincere desire to learn.
Our classroom includes students with many diverse talents and learning needs. They are caring, hard working students who are excited to access content through multi-sensory project based learning and technology. Our school is a positive community that supports students who come from a wide array of cultural and language backgrounds, as well as students with learning needs that require an encouraging and personalized environment.
My Project
In order to aid us in create such a supportive and personalized environment, we would like for our students to have access to 1 on 1, live-tutoring through Mentored, a tutoring platform that matches students to an expert level tutor to help coach them through difficult material. Students will use mentored in and out of school to help guide them through learning in a way that meets their needs, making sure that no student is without support. Students will have access to the 1-1 writing and content support they need to improve their skills. I believe that investing in my students' learning is not only an investment in their futures, but in the future of education and society as a whole.
Programs like mentored allow students to have much greater access to the 1-1 personalized support they need in order to achieve significant academic and personal growth.
Giving students access to 1-1 reading and writing support will notably contribute to their long-term successes and outcomes.
