Help me give my students books that we can use for our language lessons by using mentor sentences. We want to use these books to look at the different types of writing styles.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class motto is "We only get stronger when it gets difficult." This quote explains our class well because we are constantly trying to challenge ourselves in new, fun ways.
Our school is a low-income school with many of our students living in poverty.
This year I will have third, fourth, and fifth grade gifted and talented students. They are highly motivated independent learners. With having never taught fourth and fifth grade my students need some higher-level math activities.
My Project
Our classroom is looking to receive pictures books to use to examine mentor sentences. We want to look at the different writing styles of authors so that it may help the students create better writing. We also want to look at these books to discuss the different themes of books and how that is portrayed in the author's writing. I want to be able to use these books to help the students see how authors create their stories. All these books are great examples of writing and will be great for the students to use.
