Mental Wellness Charcuterie

My Project

My students at the MPCTEC have lots of dreams and hopes for a successful future. As their School Counselor and mentor, I want to support them with the necessary tools in their quest to be productive members of society. However, some of my students face varied personal challenges that make it hard to give full focus to their studies. The goals for this project are to make my office a more welcoming and teen-friendly environment and have additional materials so that I may facilitate and assist them in having more self-confidence in their ability to succeed against all odds.

Through the use of the various materials my students will be able to develop and use the following skills and mindsets (ASCA Student Standards) to be their best and authentic selves: Belief in development of whole self, including a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional and physical well-being (M1); Sense of acceptance, respect, support and inclusion for self and others in the school environment (M2); Belief in using abilities to their fullest to achieve high-quality results and outcomes (M5); Perseverance to achieve long-and short-term goals (B-SMS 5); Effective coping skills (B-SMS 7); Balance of school, home and community activities (B-SMS 8).
