This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

While it may sound a bit crazy, doodling can help calm the racing mind and bring it back to a more quiet, restful space, not unlike meditation. Doodling can enhance focus, creativity, and memory retention. By receiving these materials, students might find it easier to engage with content in a more relaxed and personal way. This could also encourage them to process and retain information better, as doodling can help organize thoughts and visualize concepts. Stress is toxic, and doodling can help mitigate its adverse effects. The rhythmic and repetitive drawing motion elicits what Harvard cardiologist Herbert Benson identified as the relaxation response. By synchronizing the hand and eye—thereby allowing the coordination of body and mind—doodling can become a calming and meditative experience. Our students come with different backgrounds and experiences, offering various viewpoints and ideas.
