Mental Health Retreat Room

My Project

Our Mental Health Retreat Room is off the ground but we still need some resources to complete our goals. The goal of this project is to give students a place to go when they are struggling emotionally, use the resources available to regulate their emotions, and return to class. The items we are requesting will create a setting that is calm and relaxing, offer privacy so other students are unable to see them if they are struggling, and offer resources students can use to help in regulating their emotions.

Helping students to learn skills to take care of themselves emotionally is setting them up for success.

Having our room located adjacent to our school counseling office allowing the counselor to monitor the space and offer support for students who come to the room. Every item requested and the design of the room has been well thought out to meet our goals. Making students aware of the room and how it is used will help in promoting it's use. We want to encourage mental wellness and encourage students to take care of their mental health. Offering this place will also give support to classroom teachers when they identify a student who may be struggling in their class when they don't have the resources or time to assist the student.
