Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of this project is to support students with mental health and wellness. Most students are below the poverty line and come to school hungry. The meal options in the cafeteria are not always favored by all cultures, therefore some will have low energy in class. With this project I hope to provide a mid day snack to boost energy levels in the afternoon classes. This would help students remain on task and in class. Our population of students are kind hearted and humble, hunger has been the driver of missing class to "find a snack". The precious moments in class are essential to their overall success- If I am funded and can provide a snack, I will with glee.
