This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Mental Health Drawing in Art class is a way for students to deal with and express their feelings through art emotionally. The markers and sketch books will allow students to draw and color pictures that show how they are feeling (mentally, emotionally, physically, etc). Students will be allowed to choose to express how they are feeling and use markers to color the drawing. Art can be a therapy for students' mental health. In a way, art saves many lives and helps encourage students to express their emotions and feelings. Sometimes, art is the only thing that students feel they are successful at, and it helps them deal with their own feelings, emotions, stress, anger, and anxiety.

My students are mainly from households with low-income families.

The families often do not have art materials at home for art. Art class brings out the joy, happiness, and fun that learning should be. Please help me bring art to a great group of students that will benefit from social-emotional learning, and improve mental health by creating imaginative, expressive artworks. Thank you!
