Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At L. High, mental health breaks are essential for supporting the well-being of our students, especially in today’s fast-paced and often stressful world. By incorporating activities like coloring, journaling, and creating comfy spaces, we hope to provide our teens with valuable tools to manage stress and anxiety. These activities are not just pastimes; they are proven methods for promoting relaxation and mental clarity.

Coloring offers a creative outlet that helps students focus their minds and reduce stress.

The repetitive motion of coloring can be meditative, allowing students to disconnect from worries and immerse themselves in the present moment. It’s a simple yet effective way to calm the mind and foster a sense of peace.

Journaling, on the other hand, provides a safe space for students to express their thoughts and emotions. Writing down their feelings can help them process complex emotions, gain perspective, and develop problem-solving skills. Combined with a comfortable space that feels inviting and secure, these mental health breaks will create an environment where teens can recharge, reflect, and return to their studies with a renewed sense of focus and emotional balance.
